Selling geared products into the South African market since 1922 and having been established since 1947in South Africa, David Brown’s product offering includes Spur and Helical gears, custom built gearboxes, L-Series Bevel and Helical gearboxes, geared motors, worm boxes, mobile equipment, G-Series gear units and couplings. In addition, David Brown offers after sales service and repairs through a dedicated service division. Repairs to most makes of gearboxes are undertaken, and on-site assistance with installation, alignment, repairs, condition monitoring and our new DB Uptime (asset management program) are also offered.

David Brown Gear Industries’ state-of-the-art Benoni factory boasts the largest range of MAAG gear manufacturing and measurement machines in Africa. The company is committed to investing in the local market and providing accurate products at industry leading lead times, as can been seen with the acquisition of a state of the art 3m Niles machine that has been commissioned beginning January 2007.

Step by step directions

Below are step by step instructions on how to find us:

Travelling from the West (From JHB on N12 to Witbank):

  1. Take the M43 (Atlas/Boksburg) turnoff when traveling towards Witbank on the N12
  2. When approaching the traffic lights, keep to the middle lane & turn right at the traffic lights
  3. Cross the M44 (North Rand Rd), the 3rd set of traffic lights
  4. Carry on for about 3,5 km and turn left at Commissioner Street (you’ll see a large bridge in front of you)
  5. Turn left at the next intersection (slip-way, effectively turn left as soon as possible)
  6. Carry on for about 1,8km, turn right at the 1st intersection, into Industry Road
  7. Go over the next 2 traffic lights (and Railway Bridge)
  8. We are situated on the right-hand side, just after the 3rd traffic lights (double storey face brick building, with red David Brown signage)

Travelling from the North (From Pretoria on R21 to Airport):

  1. Take M43/Atlas turnoff (just after Pomona) and turn left towards Benoni
  2. Continue until you cross the N12 (around 9 km)
  3. Cross the M44 (North Rand Rd)
  4. Carry on for about 3,5 km and turn left at Commissioner Street (you’ll see a large bridge in front of you)
  5. Turn left at the next intersection (slip-way, effectively turn left as soon as possible)
  6. Carry on for about 1,8km, turn right at the 1st intersection, into Industry Road

Travelling from the East (From Witbank on N12 to JHB):

  1. Take the Tom Jones turnoff when traveling on the N12 towards JHB from Witbank’s side and turn left, move over to the far right-hand lane ASAP.
  2. Turn right into Mowbray Rd (just before you pass underneath the Benoni lakeside Mall)
  3. Pass the next set of traffic lights and at the 1st 4-way stop (about 1km), turn left into Harrison Road
  4. Continue over 6 traffic lights until you get to a stop street, turn right (around 1,1km)
  5. When you reach Harpur Rd (around 700m), turn left over the railway line’s bridge
  6. Cross the next 2 sets of traffic lights and we are situated on the right-hand side (double storey face brick building, with red David Brown signage)
